If you love rom-coms you’ll enjoy this book.I’m not a big lover of rom com, I love a good laugh but it has to come natural, whereas with Naked Love it felt forced at times. Especially during the road trip, there were instances when it felt a bit OTT and rarely made me crack a smile. Which is a pity, I had high hopes for this book.It started with me not liking Avery very much. And I must admit, if I would have been Jake, I would have either turned the car around or kicked Avery to the curb. She was a PILL!!! Materialistic, vain, and she masked her insecurities in a way that didn’t come across as attractive or likable. It also made it really hard to connect with her. Avery did have a breakthrough at the 50% mark, but until it happened I didn’t much care about her.Jake was a likable guy, at times crass and crude, but with a way more attractive personality than Avery, and someone I would have loved going on a road trip with. Sexy, tatted and against his better judgement attracted to the mess Avery represented, he ultimately succumbed to his attraction and eventually helped Avery to see the light. And actually was exactly what Avery needed, someone to shake her up, to wake her from her stupor, and show her that there was more to her than just being a trophy wife.The connection between Jake and Avery was there but not enough for me to feel the LOVE.Because Avery had so many insecurities to overcome, I wished she had more time to come to grips with who she was, who she wanted to be, and maybe even to get a chance to live on her own, to find herself. She was a mess, and in the end she was only a slightly lesser mess than before. I felt she still had ways to go.So all in all Naked Love was entertaining, but far from what I hoped it would be. Even though I love the author’s writing, this book didn’t wow me as others did in the past. It felt a bit like a mess at times, too many things were happening, and the ending felt rushed.

4.5 stars! Loved it!Naked Love has laughs, tears, angst, family, and more.Jake and Avery DO NOT start out on the right foot. Avery is done with men, as her relationship track record is in the toilet and Jake sizes up the kind of woman Avery is the minute she enters his cafe...high maintenance, diva. When Jake becomes Avery's only way to make it back to LA with her sister's dog (Swarley) you know this will be a road trip like no other.In the beginning I thought both of them were a little childish in their behavior but it quickly became obvious Jake was a stinker, lol, he really got a rise out of teasing Avery and whether it was to see what she was made of or just for giggles in that "I'm teasing/torturing you because I like you" school way little boys do, it made the trip an adventure for Avery. Avery can give as good as she gets because she may seem only concerned about materialistic things but the girl is smart. I think the "things" were covering for the emotions she's been avoiding feeling since the death of her mom."Jake Matthews just knocked on the window to my soul and whispered, "I see you." Not the million imperfections I see in the mirror."When things get heavy, the author goes full out war on your heart and just doesn't let up, which is fine by me, bring the angst, Jewel, bring it! Challenge accepted! But with heartbreak comes self reflection and sometimes it's just the knockdown we need to pick ourselves back up and truly find our self worth."Funny, I just wanted to be the smile on his face. The object of his affection. I wanted to be the part of his life that felt utterly undefinable yet completely impossible to love without."I loved the characters and as much as I loved sexy, tatted, sarcastic, inappropriate t-shirt wearing, Vegan chef Jake, it was Avery that was the star of the book for me. As much of a diva as she was, I kind of feel like we all have a little Avery in us at one time or another. It was wonderful to reconnect with Sydney and Lautner as well, like saying hello to old friends, and "The Deedy" was a great addition to the book. This author is one of my favorites and it's because her books are character driven with these fantastic characters...reading her work is just enjoyable and pleasing to my soul."Our love is...flawed but perfect.' His tongue drags along my top lip. 'It's honest and open. It's naked, Ave...our love is a naked love."

Avery Montgomery’s life is not going as planned. And now she’s on a road trip from Milwaukee to Los Angeles with Jake Matthews and her sister’s dog, Swarley. Avery is Sydney’s younger sister from Undeniably You and I definitely don’t recall her being nearly so high maintenance and unsure of herself that she tries to hide behind a facade. As for Jake, he’s Addy’s friend/coworker/etc from Holding You/Releasing Me and he’s a former fighter, now vegan chef and business owner. I don’t remember him being quite so antagonizing, except towards Quinn. Avery and Jake are like oil and water as well as magnets. They have preconceived notions of each other and that seem to color their exchanges more than trying to get to know the real person.It’s actually really entertaining to see how much they get on each other’s nerves. But it’s frustrating, too, because Jake could be so insensitive and Avery was so stubborn. I wasn’t totally sure that I even wanted them to be a couple at first. Jake tries to dish out tough love and Avery rebels in response. And they were over-the-top extreme at times with how they went about things. By the time the story took a turn, I finally got on board with them because they started to let their walls down - Avery was beginning to command the self respect she deserved and Jake was listening at last. And then their vulnerabilities were bleeding out and I could truly see why they were a good match for the other. I liked the last portion of the book the best because Jake and Avery managed to grow towards one another in a way that made them both better people. And it was fun to see Sydney and Lautner again. This book is great for laughs, opposites attract, enemies to lovers and some swoony parts that go along with the stream.

I have to be honest: I was so angry the entire time I was reading this book. Pissed off to the highest point of pistivity (new word). I cannot stand this man. In my review for In Covenant With Ezra, I felt kind of bad about saying that. I don't feel that way this time. I think Love anticipated strong reactions to Ezra both good and bad and actually welcomes them, so again, I cannot stand this man. I get the whole BDSM thing. I do. I totally get it. I just don't like it. I guess I was somewhat naive in my interpretation of exactly what it was. I always thought that it was relegated to just bedroom sexual activity. I think if that dom/sub dynamic in the book was just in the bedroom, I would be a little more okay with him. My issue, was/is Ezra’s need to dominate her in all facets of her life. Everything hinges on how she acts towards him. It bothered me so much that everything surrounded him punishing her. She was so strong minded prior to him, she did try to please everyone around her, but she was still strong. Ezra weakened her so much. He broke her down, which were his intentions but it just sucked to read.With that being said, just because I don’t enjoy the content doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate the craft. Love Belvin has a GIFT. She is a phenomenal writer and content aside, this was a phenomenal novel. She has a way with words that rivals –if not tops – Eric Jerome Dickey. And that’s saying something. Regardless of how I felt while reading this book, I didn’t put it down. What I’ve found with Love, is that it always works out in the end. The last line of In Covenant with Ezra is what made me purchase In Love with Ezra. The last line of In Love with Ezra is what will having me purchasing In Bonded with Ezra. I don’t think I’ve felt such an internal battle over whether I loved or hated a book in my life. I’ve never been this angry at a book, but still had no other choice but to give it five stars.

That was the ending of the first book of this series, and it sets the stage for "In Love With Ezra".Before reading this latest offering from Love Belvin, I found myself doing things I try very hard not to do before beginning a read. I found myself reading opinions and comments of persons either reading or having read the book in its entirety. The one thing I recognized during my quick perusal of the 58 then posted reviews of this book was that not one reviewer mentioned the repartee in the very beginning between Love and Lex setting forth their concerns and solutions concerning judgment towards them for doing their own thing. Their conversation ended with the mutual acknowledgment that regardless of others opinions of them they were comfortable enough in their own skins to keep on doing them.Now I was set to begin my own personal journey totally centered on whether or not this train of thought was developed and adhered to both by Love Belvin and her fictional muse, Alexa Grier aka Lex, aka kitten. The very first thing I notice is that Lex is an active participant in her own manipulation, and her extreme desire of wanting to be loved is the source of this participation. Manipulation gives her pleasure. Ezra Carmichael being the sexual bedroom bully that he is, both in and out of the sandbox, took great pleasure in delivering and fulfilling this satiation to his most willing pupil or should I specify - pupil,in training? I began an instant dislike for the character of Ezra Carmichael, based on the marionette control of my emotions being guided by author Love Belvin. But then a wrench is thrown into my emotional tantrum regarding him when he displays the a supreme act of kindness towards Trent Bailey, continued personal financial assistance during a fire time of need. I am now conflicted about Ezra. I now see that I have to separate my conflicting emotions to suit whichever side of him I am viewing. All because Love Belvin is still comfortable in her own skin! But I digress!The more things change, the more they remain the same. This is the truth I found in the growth of Lex and Ezra. Lexi started out in book 1 as a very strong and dynamic character. Secure in her own personal situation, as dire as it was financially, to still have the compassion to shoulder the responsibility of an elder individual. Her inherent strength is/was undeniable; but it was compromised because she released a part of herself to someone else's care. The release of that part of herself took place when she entered into covenant. To her, a literal covenant void of anything not to do with its literal translation; contractual agreement, pledge, indenture, promise. It is only when she added and admitted the extra ingredient of L O V E, did she take her strength back and released herself from domination both in and out of the intimacy of the sandbox type of atmosphere.But baby! In book 2, after trial and error, girlfriend got her strength groove back with a lot of extra thrown in! Imminent case in point - that dang gone job interview for the Social Services Supervisory job at the church! I was jumping up an down at the repartee between her and Ezra. Lex laid claim to her Harlem strong self! Lex had gained her footing in her Covenant residency and has added the extra ingredient of personal love. GROWTH INITIATED AND CONTINUING!Now pertaining to "Pasta's" growth. I see Ezra learning and participating in the realm of compromise. I see him making great strides in the area of give and take. Something definitely missing in "In Covenant With Ezra" but taking gliding flight in "in Love with Ezra". I see that with all his learning he is finally understanding that it takes two baby to make a true and sustaining love. These mutual exchanges between Pastor and Mrs. Carmichael vs. Ezra Carmichael and Alexa Grier is what makes my heart erupt with gladness and my mind explode with the knowledge that Love Belvin has once again made me love her. I am writing this review, or rather analysis, after reading only less than 1/2 of this book.You see I do not need to read the fullness of what she has created to know that she has the stuff that it takes to keep me riding on her fan roller coaster or train or whatever you choose to call it. Love Belvin has shown me time and time again that she is not intimidated or dominated by opinions contrary to those which propel her to write the type of stories she was born to write. Love Belvin has set a goal for both herself and her life that will take place whether you ride with her or not. Both and she and Alexa are comfortable in their own skins. It is the serenity and peace of her writing that transfers itself into her characters. Love has the innate ability to keep you wanting to reach the end of this story only to have you salivating at the mouth while awaiting the Finale. That is her gift in full bloom and her flower is getting fuller and prettier by the minute. The anticipation generated by her cliffhangers creates such anxiety that when you hear of an upcoming release date, your finger remains poised days in advance to 1-click quick, fast and in a hurry! I know because I have been through that ritual too many times to count.Now I know why I deviated from my norm of not reading reviews and/or reading comments in book clubs. It is because I wanted to see what people were saying or rather putting forth details about the storyline. Then I would not have the need to speak on what had already been so succesfully done. There was need for redundancy. I already knew, without being told, that this woman had written another masterpiece. My regurgitation was not needed. During the very first review I ever wrote for one of Love's books I asked the question "How do you recognize a great writer"? I answered " Because the characters keep dancing on the stage of your mind, long after the story is done". I did not write my statement verbatim, but the gist is there. That is exactly what Love Belvin has done and continues to do.I need not mention that her pen game regarding built in erotica is not only on point but flies off the Richter scale in its intensity. Whew! She definitely has not lost a step in that area; as her first place standing exemplies in Amazon's category of erotic literature. Well, I shall now go on and finish the other 50% of this very impressive read but am sure nothing I have written will be changed neither in my heart nor my mind! Truthfully, the one thing I am looking forward to learning is "will Ezra find himself wishing if he had paid heed to that year spoken of in Deuteronomy 24:5"? I remain your devoted fan, Love Belvin, sit back and relax because you have a "winnah" on your hands.

Seriously! Ezra emanates so many things I have to remind myself 'this is a character'!The writing speaks to my soul and the depth of the characters is so on point. I really appreciate that Love Belvin obviously puts in the work with her writing: research, vocabulary, forward and intuitive thinking with her fan base in mind! I just can't gush enough about the eloquence of the writing but I digress lol...Lex and Ezra's second installment is deep. You see Lex start to transition in this story and not because Ezra requests or demands it but because of the evolution of her growing love for him. With that said the characters do have a somewhat naive manner of interacting with one another that makes you scratch your head because they are passionately in love yet they can't seem to see it in one another. Without giving away too much, you will see Lex arrive at a destination that finally makes you breathe for her though you won't believe the result of her revelation...Ezra is still the ever consistent dominant. I love that the language is actually used more and they dive deeper into how he arrived at his destination and you also learn his history and begin to understand what makes the man that we call Ezra. Some may not like his ways but I love him... Got my heart palpitating and wishing I could get an intro! Lol IJSIf it's at all possible, this book was better than the last and I can't wait for Spring 2016.... The countdown begins!

I can't think of a better reference for Perl than this searchable wonderful collection of 6 books. Beginners, intermediate, and advanced users can greatly benefit from this purchase alone. If you prefer hard copies when researching a problem, you can print out sections too, so don't discount this just because it's in electronic format. This package just makes it easier to find what you want to have for hard copy.

Perl is great and needs to be used more in a modern setting.

I own hard copies of all the O'Reilly books, and the hard copy books are good for reading about a topic at length, but when I need to find out how to do something, I reach for this CD. The search feature is awesome. I quickly get a list of articles relevant to the task I need to do.I can't recommend this CD enough.

This is the best Perl reference folks. Upon getting it I went from zero Perl programmer to intermediate one. The Perl books are arguably the best of the O'Reilly's, and these are the best of the Perl. For many subjects, an online reference might be clunky, but not here. Thus far, Ruhlman has never steered me wrong in a recipe. I am a firm fan of "Twenty" and cook from it several times a month.I can see that i will be adding "Egg" to that rotation.I love eggs in general, and get some splendid ones from a local farm... and now I have SO many options for using them!Tonight I made the lemon curd, and it was a splendid sauce for a dessert for a really rich dinner. We spooned it over fruit salad, and it was just perfect. I liked that it was not 100% egg yolks- it was easier to make, and also was lighter that the 100% yolk versions, but just as flavorful.I am still searching for the perfect method to make hard-cooked eggs, but after reading this, I know far more of the guidelines, and it's helping me to narrow in on a rpocedure that really works for me, here and now.These are 2 areas I'm personally focused on... but the book has so much more! I look forward to trying really new techniques and approaches to this wonderful ingredient.

An extraordinary book, my wife considers it one of the best and most insightful cookbooks she has ever read. Digs deeply into this single ingredient and shows the extraordinary versatility and key features of the egg, many of which we take for granted in day-to-day cooking. When you understand the egg, as this book allows you to do, you gain a whole new level of insight into your other recipes and into cooking in general. Have tried several delicious recipes from the book as well, they will become regulars in our cooking rotation. For the serious cook and also for anyone who wants to increase their cooking knowledge, this book is a real classic. Ruhlman writes so well that reading the book is also highly enjoyable, not in any way an instructional chore, just fascinating. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

Still love this book! It is clearly not a read and put down book, it is a "go to" book. So I have only really just started using it but can tell already it is going to be continued to be dog-eared. My bias is that I think the egg is a miracle food in so many ways. Ruhlman's books are always informative, visually appealing and written for beginners to master chefs. It sounds corny but I am continuing to find that perfect amount of time for a hard-boiled egg which really depends on your heating mechanism, his advice in that area is very helpful. There is just tons of useful, interesting information in this book, you will not go wrong buying it. His egg salad recipes can be used for proteins other than eggs. The pictures are so gorgeous that I did go out and buy a mezzaluna to chop the eggs with. Did I say I really have only started using the book?

Ruhlman can tell you everything that you want to know about chicken eggs, and a tiny smattering about duck eggs, quail eggs, and even ostrich eggs. The recipes are not new or revolutionary, but they are very strong on technique. If you just want a string of recipes, you can find them online, but Ruhlman emphasizes how each recipe can best be made for ultimate results. I have a number of hens in my backyard, and I am interested in doing the best things that I can possibly do with their eggs. This book is very well worth having and Ruhlman will always improve your cooking.

SO much more than just your typical "how to cook an egg" book. This book artfully covers a wide array of breakfast dishes, sauces, salads, cooking techniques etc. I love how the book separates into categories for the whole egg, just the whites, and just the yolks. I've learned far more from this book than I was expecting to. It's a great resource!

This is a great cookbook! The definitive guide. Contains everything from classic dishes to Asian to pasta -you name it! He is a brilliant chef. I have read/watched him for years even when he was traveling with Anthony Bourdain. If you want to know about eggs, get this book.

So much has happened on theis little ring of coral 3 days out at sea from Acapulco.You name it: pirastes, sharks, discoveries and re-discoveries, claims and counter-claims, shipwrecks, guano mining form San Francisco, England and Mexican colony, starvation, drownings, murder and rape, last minute rescue, secret US mission turned into a disaster, secret base, sea plane base and hurricane, stranded fishermen and stranded boats...What else do you want...in a true story!

When I first saw Clipperton on a map of the world and I googled it for more information, I was floored to find snippets of abandonment, starvation, rape and murder, and FDR's personal interest in this tiny atoll in the eastern Pacific, and eventually led to me reading this exhaustively researched book.From many obscure sources, the author did a great job tracking the chronology of discovery, early encounters, attempted development, military history and FDR's interest in the island, and overview of fauna and flora. To me, the most striking chapter was when a group of Mexicans were abandoned on the island; the men perished trying to row for help, and the women remaining on the island were left to starve and deal with the one remaining man on the island who proclaimed himself "king" and raped several of the women.Unbelievable history for such a small, isolated rock in the middle of nowhere.

Even in the Internet age this book is the best source of historical information about this French-owned island off the coast of Mexico. I read it in '89 and again in '97, and now it'll be on my bookshelf.Painstaking research and good writing prove that the truth is stranger than fiction. Much much stranger.

When I saw the book Clipperton in the display window of a New York book store I had already been planning to write a novel about this strange island. With the additional information the book provided my plans became more concrete then. After a decade and many many rejection letters I finally found a publisher in Harbor House, Augusta, Georgia. Kazuaki Tanahashi, a Japanese-trained calligrapher, is the pioneer of the genre of "one stroke painting" as well as the creator of multicolor enso (Zen circles). Enlightenment Unfolds is a selection of the writings of the founder of the Soto Zen Buddhist tradition, Eihei Dogen. It is the follow up to a collection of writings put together called Moon In A Dew Drop. The two collections are a beautiful selection of Dogen’s writings to give a broad sampling of the vast amount of his writings.He was a prolific writer in medieval Japan, covering topics of zen practice that ranged that covered everything from instructions on how to sit in zazen, to poems, instructions for the cooks and many other topics. But in this particular volume Kazuaki Tanahashi and the people he collaborated with chose a diverse selection to give the picture of Dogen as “a whole person.” This is no small task, as Eihei Dogen was a spiritual giant, a mystic, a scholar the founder of one of the most significant schools of Zen Buddhism still in existence today.What I really liked about this selection is that you have some of Dogen’s writings which teach some of his most important lessons of how to live as a Zen Buddhist, such as in the fascicle Eight Awakenings of Great Beings. You have teachings encouraging all people to learn The Way entitled Recommending Zazen to All People. There are practical writings on Guidelines for Officers of The Eihei Monastery. And there are inspiring writings for practitioners like Continous Practice. There are many different writings to give you a broad picture of the depth and scope of Dogen.As a practitioner of Soto Zen, I have found several of these writings one which I have read and reread as instructions on how to practice, how to live and just to be inspired in how to pursue practice wholeheartedly, something which Dogen always stresses.

This is a book that allows the reader to deeply enter and learn from a master. The teachings area die clear and accessible over a wide Range of life experience. A valuable book for anyone interested in Buddhism beyond the surface.

I translation, and a good one. This requires a desire to really learn about Zen. After reading many books about zen buddhism and working on a practice, I read this book. It is most definitely enlightening and I highly recommend it if you are serious about the study of Zen.

This is yet another wonderful text or extrapolation about Dōgen's writings and philosophies. Great read yet again. Enjoy and become enlightened even more. Namaste.

A well written book Kazuaki Tanahashi that covers the entire range of Dogen's works. Dogen is a difficult subject and this book handles him well.

With clarity of writing and mindstreaching concepts, this is a hard book to beat. Excellent definitions, explainations of historical Buddhist practices, names of historical personages, and bibliography make this book also an excellent reference work.

Just when I think I have read my favorite book in this series I move to the next book and love it even more. Dawg and Emma's relationship was so great and I loved seeing the softer side of his character. There were moments that I laughed out loud and moments where I found myself reading with tears in my eyes. The only thing that left me a little disappointed was how quickly the girls were brought into the story and then how quickly the story ended. That seems to be a trend with this series.

A fudging love this book. Each one is better then the last one . Can’t wait until the next book also can’t wait to see what happens when Jewel finally has the baby and how D is going to react .

Been a while since one of the boys found a woman outside of the Club. And Emma is just what Dawg needs. This was an awesome read and touching.

Great job can't wait for next ins series. Characters are interesting and full of compassion and heartache. Keep them coming.

I've never liked MC books but I read this because of it's 5 star rating. So glad I did.

We get very little about Dawg except that he manages the strip club but he's oh so hot. Dawg and Emma couldn't be more opposite and more perfect for each other. Emma trying to dance for Dawg is hilarious and calling him by his real name is so precious. Her insistent questions add to her and Dawh's chemistry. Loved this and cant wait for Linc and Crow 😍

Another winner in this series of books. A book that has characters that are not looking for love, but find love and learn to aside their fear of a relationship and learn to love.
