I liked that the book was written from Nigel's perspective and that I learned many details about the Iditarod. However, I wish the sentence structure had been a bit more sophisticated.
Nigel's Choice is a great story for all ages. It is well-written, engaging, and descriptive. The author does a great job of sharing her unique experience in running the Iditarod from a dog's perspective (Nigel's perspective). This is a must read for anyone who likes to read about dogs or about dog sledding, especially anyone interested in the great Iditarod race. Once I began the story, I could not put it down. It kept my interest and after each chapter I wanted to know what happened next so kept reading!
This book was very enjoyable and an easy, interesting read for kids of all ages. I followed Nancy through her Iditerod adventure and I learned the real story through Nigel. Nancy was so much more brave that I could ever be. This story has a great message about how your choices can affect so many others and is such a great lesson for all of us! Thank you Nancy, for having the insight to put a postivie spin on an unfortunate event.
This book is a must read for any dog enthusiast. The story told from the voice of one of the sled dogs, relates the author's adventure running the 2009 Iditarod Dog Sled Race. The illustrations add to the story with it's touching artwork done by Jon Van Zyle, the official Iditarod artist since 1979. The story is moving and is an easy read, one that you would not want to put down till the very end of the tale. I highly recommend this book for people of all ages.
