He sends his friend Michael Maddox to her aid. They will go into hiding to find the answers in order to keep the baby safe and in doing so they will start to have feelings for each other. What will happened to them once things calm down? A nice new read.

Spoiler Free ReviewThis is the first in a new series for Kathi. Though it could be argued that it is actually the second book in the series. One of the first books that Kathi wrote was "Road To Christmas Past". This series takes up in that setting and involves the characters and and backstory from that book. However, the new series looks at five sisters and a book is devoted to each.The first centers on Harper. These are a bit different than Kathi's other series and these are not cozy mysteries. They are Mystery/Suspense/Romance/Thriller In other words Romantic Suspense. They are neither gushy nor gory. They would make good fodder for a Hallmark movie.Harper is a bit adrift. Having lost her fiance in a scuba accident she is heading back to her home town to figure life out. A veteran of the Army with three tours under her belt she is still searching. The trip back to her hometown brings an unexpected challenge into her life and she rises to the challenge. This is the story of how she meets the challenges thrown her way.Like all of Kathi's books this is well written and well edited. This is about the same length as most of her series so it weighs in at about 140 pages not counting the preview at the end.So want a little more action than a cozy this will probably suit you. Looking for a bit different story but with Kathi's trademark character insight this will probably suit you. Kathi Daley fan then this will suit you.

This is the first in a new series by Kathi Daley. It is a real page turner and you will be anxious for the next book.The heroine joined the military after school and has been away from her home for fourteen years. After meeting the love of her life they travel to adventures until a tragic accident takes his life. She then decides to go back to her home. On the trip while avoiding a dog, she ends in a ditch and then the dog leads her to another accident with a death and a woman with a baby who begs her to take and hide the baby for protection. She takes the baby and the dog and after gun shots, realize it was a good move. But now she needs help and calls an old friend.This series is exciting and fast paced. Mrs. Daley always develops her characters and draw the reader in from the first page.I am very excited to see the next book in this series and I highly recommend it for fellow mystery buffs.

Wow...amazingly good book, good characters, good plots...What an amazing start to a new series...I’m so looking forward to the books to come, oh yeah.I read a lot of different genres, love crime, courtroom dramas, deep psychological drama...I love paranormals but not werewolves and truly unbelievable animals, Dracula type books. Kathi delivers on all accounts. When I’ve read a deeply horrendous book I find going to a Kathi Daley book relieves my angst.What more can I say than I find her books funny, meaningful, love her wonderful characters. Oh what a fantastic world it would be to have such likable characters in ones life. To be able to call them friends...

Wow! Harper was all I'd hoped for in a series starter. Harper Hathaway is a strong and lovable character that I can't wait to read more about in subsequent books.After serving three tours in combat in the army, Harper fell in love with a Scuba diver and traveled the country on dives until tragedy turned her life upside down and sent her wandering back to her tiny hometown to try and figure out some new life goals.On the way back, a mystery falls into her lap, throwing her into both danger and romance.This is a really great romantic mystery, and I highly recommend it. I can't wait for more.

Harper is the first book in what looks to be like an awesome series if this book is any indication of what's to come. The first book is a story of a strong woman with a heart of gold whom you will come to love and will totally become immersed in her story. Her story is a romantic suspense with some great characters and a well developed plot. A plot that involves drama, suspense, murder, romance, and sleuthing involving a baby, a puppy, criminals, good friends, and of course the main character, Harper. A story that is a definite page turner and which I highly recommend.

Was a wonderful read and kept you riveted and wanting to know what was going to happen next. Was fun getting to know Harper and how her character was the perfect person to be where she happened to be at the right time. I am looking forward to the next in this series. I have read two other series by Kathi Daley and have not been disappointed in either of them as well. The only problem is they are so good I get through them in one day and then I have to wait for the next one in the series. But it is fun to anticipate a good read.

New series from Kathi Daley. This author just continually amazes me with her writing skills and imagination. Harper slides her car into a ditch trying to miss a dog running across the toad. When she gets out to check everything she finds a baby, a dead woman, a DEA agent and a crooked cop. She calls an old friend for help and starts to unravel the mystery and starts to fall for a little baby, a puppy and a friend if her friend. Go with them across the country looking for answers. Loved it!!
